10th. Anniversary
Champagne under £10
MILLENNIUM DRINKING: Autumn 1999: the first Champagne we recommend in the search for Millenium drinking was the Le Brun de Neuville Cuvee Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs Brut which we've just been tasting and are now stocking.  A serious cooperative-manipulante wine, where the value is in the bottle and not in the pockets of advertising executives

We are currently stocking some good tasty bottles of premium Champagne (Mumm Cordon Rouge has just come in) and some other reasonable bottles before wholesale prices go completely crazy.  This is NOT just sales hype - if we could get good quality cheap Champagne we'd be selling it to you. Here at Le Tour de France we really do feel that Champagne prices are going up so we're advising customers to buy now for the Millennium. Meanwhile we're going to leave this page here and see just what a bargain this really was...

March 1999: Some things can't last.  Champagne prices have now begun to rise at the wholesalers in preparation for the Millennium.  We can't even buy a reasonable Champagne now for under £10 (so yes: you've guessed it we're not going to be selling one for under £10 now!).  So thanks to all our regular customers who cleared us out of the £10 Champagne - we know you enjoyed it.

NOW SOLD OUT
Le Tour De France have now been at 135 Sunnyhill Road for 10 years. We started here way back in September 1988 when the world wide web was unknown, in a time before the spice girls, when viagra was not needed and France were not world cup football champions. Back then you could get Champagne for £10 a bottle. And now you can again while stocks last. To celebrate our 10th. Anniversary here we are offering our house Champagne for under a tenner.
